Community Organising
Community Organising is about listening to people’s ideas and concerns, bring them together with other people who have similar ideas or concerns and encourage them to take action on the things that really matter to them. People’s passion, ownership and collective power are the drives for community organising.
Community Organisers have a core of conduct that ensures skills are transferable, that people feel empowered and that whatever action that is taken is sustainable in time. The Golden rule of community organising is:
“Never do for others what they can do for themselves”
(Saul Alinsky)
